A fellow sports parent who gets it
I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to step into the team manager role. Between keeping parents informed, organizing events, and juggling a million little details, it’s easy to wonder if you’re doing it “right.” I’ve been there — and now my goal is to make it easier for you. At Team Manager HQ, I share the tools, systems, and encouragement I wish I’d had when I started, so you can manage your team with more confidence and less stress.
How it all started...
From “what did I just sign up for?” to helping others succeed
A few years ago, I said yes to co-managing my kids’ hockey team… and immediately wondered if I’d made a huge mistake. That first season was a blur of hotel bookings, fundraising, forgotten gear, and endless emails. I was doing my best, but it often felt like someone was always disappointed.
Over time, things changed. Through trial and error, I built systems that worked. I started feeling proud of the experience we were creating for the kids and families. Soon, other new managers began asking me for advice — and I realized no one should have to figure this out the hard way.
Since then, I’ve managed both hockey and soccer teams and stepped into a new role as Manager Coordinator for my son’s hockey club, mentoring other parents who are stepping up to lead. Team Manager HQ grew out of that same passion: helping youth sports team managers feel calm, capable, and supported from day one.

Some fun facts about me...
My kids both play competitive soccer — one still laces up for hockey recreationally, but soccer is our family’s main sport (and biggest time commitment!)
I competed at the Canada Games in short track speed skating… even though I was actually a figure skater. Our province didn’t have a team, so they turned hockey players and figure skaters into speed skaters — like our very own Cool Runnings story!
My very first taste of team management was as a teenager: my mom was my figure skating team manager. I jumped in to help her with the manager role — which means I’ve been organizing and supporting teams ever since.
While most parents run on coffee or tea, I’m fueled by hot chocolate — perfect for chilly rinks and spring soccer sidelines.
My favorite escape is my grandparents’ cottage. It’s where I recharge, slow down, and remember the joy of simple things.
I’ve managed both hockey and soccer teams and now serve as my son’s hockey club’s “Manager Coordinator,” mentoring new team managers so they don’t have to figure it all out the hard way.
